QC Process
8-Step Quality Control Process
From the moment raw material arrives at our factory to the final pre-shipment inspection — every step is documented and verified.
01
Raw Material Inspection
Every incoming veneer log batch is inspected for species verification, diameter, straightness, and defects. Veneer sheets are graded by thickness uniformity, moisture content, and visual quality before entering production.
02
Glue Mixing & Spreading QC
Glue formulation (MR/Melamine or WBP/Phenolic) is verified for each production batch. Spread rate is measured for consistent adhesive application across all veneer sheets — critical for bonding strength.
03
Hot Press Monitoring
Temperature, pressure, and press time are continuously monitored during hot pressing. Each product specification has defined press parameters for proper glue cure and panel density.
04
Panel Trimming & Sanding Calibration
After pressing, panels are trimmed to exact dimensions and sanded to target thickness. Sanding calibration is checked at the start of each shift and between product changeovers.
05
Thickness & Moisture Measurement
Random panels from each batch are measured for thickness tolerance (typically +/- 0.5mm) and moisture content (target 8-12%). Digital calipers and moisture meters provide precise readings.
06
Visual Grading
Trained graders inspect every panel face for defects: knots, patches, splits, discoloration, and sanding marks. Panels are graded according to the customer's specified quality standard.
07
Packing Inspection
Packing quality is verified: correct panel count per pallet, proper stacking orientation, edge protectors, strapping tension, and pallet labeling with product specifications and batch numbers.
08
Pre-Shipment Inspection
Final inspection before container loading: random pallet opening, panel measurement verification, visual check, packing list cross-reference, and container condition inspection. Third-party inspectors (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek) welcome.

Real Inspection. Real Factory.
Every photo below is taken at our partner factories in Vietnam. These are actual QC checks performed on production batches — not stock images.

Core Veneer Inspection
Checking veneer quality, grain pattern, and defect grading before core composition.

Edge Quality — Furniture Grade
Inspecting edge bonding, layer alignment, and surface finish on furniture-grade plywood.

Edge Quality — Construction Grade
Verifying formwork plywood edge integrity and film-face adhesion.

Thickness Measurement — Furniture Grade
Digital caliper measurement verifying ±0.2mm tolerance on sanded furniture panels.

Thickness Measurement — Construction Grade & Core Comparison
Caliper verification of construction plywood within ±0.5mm tolerance; side-by-side acacia vs eucalyptus core comparison.

Talk to Our Export Team
Can I arrange a third-party inspection before shipment? Yes. We welcome pre-shipment inspections by SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or your nominated inspector. We provide full factory access and coordinate with your inspector for a smooth visit. Inspection cost is borne by the buyer. What thickness tolerance does Mika Plywood guarantee? Standard thickness tolerance is +/- 0.5mm for panels 6mm and above. For thinner panels (3-5mm), tolerance is +/- 0.3mm. Tighter tolerances can be discussed for precision applications. How does Mika Plywood handle quality claims after delivery? Quality claims must be filed within 30 days of container arrival with photographic evidence. Our QC team reviews every claim within 48 hours and proposes a resolution. See our Return Policy page for full details. What moisture content is Mika Plywood plywood dried to? Target moisture content is 8-12% depending on product type and destination market. Moisture is measured at multiple production stages: after veneer drying, after hot pressing, and during final inspection. Does Mika Plywood provide test reports with shipments? Test reports for formaldehyde emission, bonding strength, moisture content, and density are available on request. We can also arrange testing through accredited third-party laboratories for specific requirements.
